Pray for my Christian friend and neighbor, Ellen, whose sister has died. There were 4 kids altogether and this was Ellen’s last living sibling. Ellen was the only one, based on most of the evidence we have to work on, who embraced Christ and she’s spent much of the past 15 years since I’ve known her praying for and witnessing to her brothers and sister.
They all have frail health, somewhat, and rough pasts. Pray for peace, strength and comfort as she takes care of the details, she’s going to her sister’s storage unit today with one of her sister’s friends to sort all of that out. They’re all 50-something, so the deaths have been relatively untimely in this day and age certainly.
She is burdened with a lot of sadness over her family. 😦
You are above all. You are aware of the difficulties each of us face moment by moment and for our whole lifetime here on earth. Thank You for the many kindnesses You show us when we need them. T hank You for cat purrs, cat antics, and cat cuddles on a cold day. You warm our hearts in ways You know will have meaning to us. You know our hearts. Thank You for being our love to show the world when we don’t always feel so loving. You are love. Thank You for all the wonderful ways You give for expressing Christian love and care in times of need.
Please help Donna to show Your love in tangible ways to her neighbor who has lost her sibling at an earlier age than is expected these days. Bless the neighbor with peace and comfort. Please help her to find friends that can be as close as she was to her siblings. Thank You that Donna knows how to share Christian love to the grieving.
Lord, please help my friend Karen who had knee surgery. She has been slow to recover and in much pain. I have not been able to be there like a sister for her. Please help her especially in her desperate times. I know she feels lonely often. Please may Jesus be a known friend to her.
Lord, please help my husband to not pick up a cigarette. You have helped him do what he never thought he could do. I praise You for that. I also ask for continued healing of his elbow even though he has been unable to get the needed med. You know what that is all about. We trust in You regarding these matters.
Thank You, Lord, for the beautiful bird pictures that AJ and Cheryl and others have shared. You are most creative in colors and varieties for our enjoyment.
I pray for Your blessing of Israel with peace and prosperity to overflow to other nations. Thank You for miraculous deliveries from harm for the people in that land.
You are the greatest, Abba! Help us all to know that our strength is found through knowing the joy that is from You even in trouble times.
Prayers requested for my husband’s first cousin, who I just learned survived a cardiac arrest Friday. She is 47 years old, and has had a stent (sp?) put in now for a blocked artery.
Thankfully, she was not alone when it happened. It was early morning, and she was snoring extremely loudly, and her husband tried to wake her up, but was unable to, so he called 911. After being transported by ambulance to a hospital that didn’t have enough resources to give her the care she needed, she was transferred to a facility about an hour away that was well-equipped.
If you could pray for her daughter, too, who is approximately middle-school age, I know that would be appreciated, as this is probably pretty scary to a child that age.
I lift up this cousin mentioned by 6 Arrows. Thank You for making her husband aware that she needed help. Thank You for making space available for advanced care at the other facility. Those are certainly blessings that saved her life. Please give her husband extra energy and stamina to cope with the extra responsibilities and stress of being there for his wife and daughter. Lord, You know how this type situation can get to a young person when it is so unexpected and changes priorities in the family’s plans. Please give her emotional strength to endure the recovery of her mom. Help her to be a help and to give freely of her time and care. I ask for friends to step in with relief and offers for prayer and comfort. Thank You, Abba, for the ways You choose to best meet the needs of this cousin and her family. In the name of Jesus, Amen
We had a young man in church today from the treatment center. He was in a real spiritual struggle. This was evident in the prayer he prayed aloud during the time that happens. He almost ran to communion. I know many were praying for him and the others there. What a battle they fight! We are all in spiritual battle, but often don’t see it so dramatically happen. It is a good thing to remember, so that we pray for ourselves and others. Also, so that we put on our armor.
Praying for the above needs (but not nearly as eloquently as Janice!).
Please pray for my niece, Hannah. She transferred to Wheaton for her sophomore year and is struggling with a difficult roommate, among other things. She loves her classes and professors, but hasn’t made a lot of friends just yet.
Continued prayers for my brother, Mike.
Prayers for my Mom’s health. She “fainted” a few days ago. My sister and her husband (who is a general surgeon) went to check on her at the request of my dad. She’d had very little to eat that day, but had still consumed over a fifth of bourbon, so sister’s husband assumes she actually blacked out rather than fainted. My dad had been upstairs on the computer when it happened and found her on the floor, unresponsive. It gave him quite a scare as he couldn’t see her breathing and thought she’d had a stroke or heart attack and was dead. They’ve been married since 1955 and it’ll be very hard on him when she passes. She felt fine the next day and refused to go to the doctor.
Prayers for me as I try to mentally prepare for my trip home for Thanksgiving. Most of my family will be there and large gatherings are rather difficult for me. It’s also hard to see my mother in such an inebriated state; she tends to drink more heavily when under stress and her stress level at Thanksgiving is always extremely high. I haven’t been home for Thanksgiving in about five years. Instead, we’ve spent them with Scott’s mom because of her health situation (first, she had Guillain Barre, then was diagnosed with melanoma that’d metastasized to her brain and lungs). Miraculously, she’s currently doing well, after undergoing an experimental treatment about two and a half years ago.
Sorry for the long list. But, I sure would appreciate prayer.
